Inflation Calculator
What was money worth in Ireland?
This Irish inflation calculator shows what any amount was worth in today's money. Pick two years between 1922 and 2026.
Pounds and euros are automatically converted
How it works
This calculator uses Ireland's Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from the Central Statistics Office to show how purchasing power has changed. Ireland used the Irish pound (punt) until 2002, when it adopted the euro at a fixed rate of IR£1 = €1.27. The conversion is handled automatically.
These figures are reliable estimates, not exact amounts. The CPI measures a changing basket of goods and services, and property prices are not included.
